This book is about Uni's first sleepover with friends。 This book is about how Uni's friends have all had sleepovers but this is Uni's first。 Uni struggles to fit in and struggles at the games。 Later in the book, Uni late at night finds what she is good at。 I enjoyed this book but it was not my favorite book to read。 I would recommend this book to little girls who are interested in unicorns and want to find ways to understand it is okay to not be like everyone。 This book is not very diverse but i This book is about Uni's first sleepover with friends。 This book is about how Uni's friends have all had sleepovers but this is Uni's first。 Uni struggles to fit in and struggles at the games。 Later in the book, Uni late at night finds what she is good at。 I enjoyed this book but it was not my favorite book to read。 I would recommend this book to little girls who are interested in unicorns and want to find ways to understand it is okay to not be like everyone。 This book is not very diverse but is based on a unicorn。 。。。more

Uni the Unicorn Uni's First Sleepover by Amy Krouse RosenthalUni is going on her first sleepover in this Step 2 book。 Uni is nervous about her sleepover but really wants to go。 The other unicorns have all been to sleepovers before。 When they start playing games it doesn't make Uni feel any better until something happens。 This is a great book for any child going on her first sleepover。 Uni the Unicorn Uni's First Sleepover by Amy Krouse RosenthalUni is going on her first sleepover in this Step 2 book。 Uni is nervous about her sleepover but really wants to go。 The other unicorns have all been to sleepovers before。 When they start playing games it doesn't make Uni feel any better until something happens。 This is a great book for any child going on her first sleepover。 。。。more

Like most early reader books, “Uni’s First Sleepover” is entertaining for kids, but for adults? “Not much,” as my daughter would say。 Worse, the cover and title page say, “An Amy Krouse Rosenthal book” with “Pictures based on art by Brigette Barrager。” The names of the two people who actually created this book are practically hidden amongst the rest of the text on the indicia, something I’d expect from Disney or Warner Brothers, not a series created by two creatives。

Uni struggles to do well at things and eventually that gets her down and she isn’t having fun。 Maddie definitely related to this。 Hopefully the message that she found what she was good at and remembered to enjoy herself will hit home。

A cute short story about the ups and downs of sleepovers and finding what you're good at。 A cute short story about the ups and downs of sleepovers and finding what you're good at。 。。。more

Fun book to read with little ones。 We used it to discuss how everyone has something they are good at, even if they don't realize it at first。 Fun book to read with little ones。 We used it to discuss how everyone has something they are good at, even if they don't realize it at first。 。。。more

Step 2 reader, my dd loves unicorns so she loved this book。 It follows characters from the Uni novel。

This was a cute, quick read。 I think readers who love unicorns would enjoy it, especially young kids just starting to read as this is very accessible。 I liked the plot and how even though she kept losing Uni still had fun for the most part。 I like that she did find something she was really good at in the end that her friends were really excited about。 Cute and I would recommend this to kids。

Meh。 it has a unicorn, so it would circulate and circulate and circulate。 Not really compelling to a 49 year old, but I suppose I'm not the audience, lol。 Meh。 it has a unicorn, so it would circulate and circulate and circulate。 Not really compelling to a 49 year old, but I suppose I'm not the audience, lol。 。。。more

Not the best early reader but my 5 year old granddaughter enjoyed it。

Lexi and I really enjoyed this story! She has now turned 7, and is old enough, to go on her first sleepover! She can hardly wait!I liked the message this story had!We all have talents; when we are able to share them with others, then we can be truly happy!

theGraveyard Librarian

I thought it was a good story about overcoming being disappointed。 However, the five year old was surprisingly mad that there were only unicorns in the story。 She wanted the little girl too。

I was not a fan of Uni the Unicorn or Uni the Unicorn and the Dream Come True , but I think for what it is, a "Step into Reading" book, Uni's First Sleepover succeeds on that level and on the story level, as limited that is and can be for a "step" book。Uni's First Sleepover is the best of the three I've read。 I was not a fan of Uni the Unicorn or Uni the Unicorn and the Dream Come True , but I think for what it is, a "Step into Reading" book, Uni's First Sleepover succeeds on that level and on the story level, as limited that is and can be for a "step" book。Uni's First Sleepover is the best of the three I've read。 。。。more

Cute! Not what I'm looking for for my "Firsts" storytime, but could be useful for another one I do later about skills/talents ? Cute! Not what I'm looking for for my "Firsts" storytime, but could be useful for another one I do later about skills/talents ? 。。。more

Uni attends her first sleepover, but she's bad at all the sleepover games。 She thinks she's not having fun, but then she finds something she's good at: telling stories!A cute little story full of cute little unicorns。 Uni attends her first sleepover, but she's bad at all the sleepover games。 She thinks she's not having fun, but then she finds something she's good at: telling stories!A cute little story full of cute little unicorns。 。。。more

Not everyone is great at everything and that can feel pretty crummy。 Thankfully the power of storytelling saves the day when things get scary。

Uni stops having fun at a sleepover when she realizes she can't do any of the special things the other unicorns can do。 Until she realizes that she has courage and can help all the others by being brave。 Uni stops having fun at a sleepover when she realizes she can't do any of the special things the other unicorns can do。 Until she realizes that she has courage and can help all the others by being brave。 。。。more

Uni is going to her first sleepover。 She is having fun, until she fails at every single activity the others suggest。 She goes to bed upset, but in the middle of the night Uni discovers something she is good at。More than just a cute sleepover story, this has a good message for readers that you don't have to be good at everything your friends are good at, everyone has different talents。 I know some die-hard Uni the Unicorn friends who will be super excited to get their hands on another Uni story。 Uni is going to her first sleepover。 She is having fun, until she fails at every single activity the others suggest。 She goes to bed upset, but in the middle of the night Uni discovers something she is good at。More than just a cute sleepover story, this has a good message for readers that you don't have to be good at everything your friends are good at, everyone has different talents。 I know some die-hard Uni the Unicorn friends who will be super excited to get their hands on another Uni story。 This will be super popular in our elementary library。 Recommended to any kid for the message, but unicorn lovers will especially love this。 。。。more

Disappointing following how great the originals were。

Amanda Murphy

Disappointing in spite of a good message。 The real appeal of Uni is her connection to her little girl。
